Are you using a time machibe to access Amazon in the past? Because for me the experience looks more like this:

1. I type in “amazon.com” in my browser
2. I use the search bar and get a bunch of sponsored results that are not what I was searching for at all and all use the same garbage photoshopped photos
3. I scroll through pages upon pages of irrelevant dropshipped garbage offered by companies like JHUVOY, BRILGOVA and other random letters.
4. I finally find something that looks like it’s not a cheap knockoff
5. I add it to my shopping cart and click through offers for Amazon prime and offers for dropshipped garbage that I might want to add to my cart.
6. I proceed to payment

Sigh, I really miss the old internet, I truly do…

I’m a simultaneous interpreter, and it’s a bloodbath out there. Partially because anyone who needs a translator or an interpreter by default is unable to verify the accuracy of the translation/interpretation - they can only tell if it’s smooth, believable, and such. And, AIs are great at being believable even when they make shit up…

It’s completely insane to me that businesses deal with it without suing their butts off. I can understand individual customers, they tend to be docile, but how did all this not cause massive losses to a litigious company yet?

…and it shows. God damn it shows, almost every week it seems, with yet another fuckup.

I settled on Manjaro for now because it’s super nice and easy to use - I heard it had some issues with updates on the past, but for the last year or so it’s been really nice for me, so I’ll wait until the first screwup before distro-hopping somewhere else :)

I’m so glad I decided to move away from it - I still have no idea what I’m doing in Linux, but then again I never had a lot of idea about what I’m doing in Windows either, so it’s all good :)
