World News@lemmy.world•EU plans phase out of high risk telecom suppliers, in proposals seen as targeting ChinaEnglish
20·20 days agophase out gear supplied by companies based in “high risk” countries
China seen as high risk usually by fear for spyware. But I’d make them share the 1st place with USA. Nothing screams high-risk harder than an unreliable ‘partner’ who’s clearly turning away from you and extorting you frequently while doing so.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft CEO warns that we must 'do something useful' with AI or they'll lose 'social permission' to burn electricity on itEnglish
10·23 days agoTo be honest, I did tried a couple of AI’s. But all I got where solutions that would never work on the stated hardware. Code full of errors and when fixed never functions as requested. On any non-technical questions it’s always agreeing and hardly (not at all actually) challenging any input you give it. So yeah, i’m done with it and waiting for the bubble to burst.

15·1 month agoSure, we’ve all seen how the de-centralized internet became centralized around a few big-tech and what that does for availability. When he turns off the cloud-pc I’ve got nothing, and all I can do about it is … also nothing. So if my data isn’t on my hardware at a location I can access 24/7 it really isn’t my data!!
