If you’re on Android you can use yt-dlp in Termux. A little inconvenient but it works.
The problem is that would be incredibly easy to bypass at multiple levels. You could set your age as >18 when configuring your device’s account (they don’t check ID) or modify the OS/browser/client-side webpage itself (the latter of which a simple browser extension could accomplish).
A 64-bit signed integer can represent timestamps far into the future—roughly 292 billion years in fact, which should cover us until well after the heat death of the universe. Until we discover a solution for that fundamental physical limit, we should be fine.
Come on now, heat death will take far more than 10¹⁰⁰ years, not just 3x10¹¹. It’s not the point of the article but get your facts right.
I’m not too worried about the year 2038 problem. I suspect it will be similar to Y2K, with a bit of overhyped panic, but with most stuff being patched beforehand to avoid issues.

I’m at 943 cycles on my Pixel 6 Pro and it’s still going strong. I slow charge it every night and try to avoid fully draining the battery to slow down the deterioration, which seems to have worked pretty well. Thankfully a battery replacement is only $50 so it won’t cost much when I do have to replace it.
