11·16 hours agoGuy, never forget that internet was built for porn and sarcasm, later renamed trolling, and you’re supposed to have higher than room temperature IQ to be here and properly enjoy it.

2·16 hours agoIn my infant span of figuring out how to get on here, there are some charms here like foodporn being on the main server, and shittyfoodporn being exclusively on the Canadian one.

1·16 hours agoRemember how each time ANY new dating site and later app would actually gain decent traction, the owners would pump it full of fucking bot accounts on top of ignoring scammers making accounts just to milk male purses? Except dating apps have their predations set unlike these melting pots of doom scrolling excuses for forums.

1·16 hours agoThere’s a boiling point to almost everything, and lemmy trying to be an umbrella of communities rather than topic-specific, good old forums is the crux. When you narrow completely down and focus on one main, maybe 2 adjacent topics, and the rest is piled into off-topic board - it’s stupidly easy to ID bots.

1·16 hours agoI’ve actually been wondering about that - if your site is predominantly there to cash in from ads, but you ban the vast majority of real users and then inject 2/3 of the entire population with bots…who is even left to pump those ad views? Google Ads knows when its a fake view and bots dont scroll through.

3·17 hours agoSo get a phone that can run AOSP and its many child roms and dont give a damn. Literally whole point of Android.
Now that US market has long since abandoned locking you into a contract for 2 years in exchange for a free flagship, and locking bootloaders on US models on top of that - just export whatever you want and magisk/aosp it.
This new limit is literally made for the savvy public who uses external apks and such and not the vast majority of room temperature IQs anyway.

31·18 hours agoAnyone who REALLY wants to see what porn you watch and other info will bypass your silly VPN like its nothing. VPN only really helps when your ISP monitors your every KB and legitimately sends you threatening letter to stop torrenting that weird porn.
