Seems like the guy went into hyperdrive after hearing about that lawsuit in Russia against him.
Not really, he is just being his usual self. If you can’t take his mockery with a good sense of humour, you will be mocked even more the next year. Mocking the powerful and holding a grotesque mirror in their face is a sacred carnival tradition, and Putin and his silly persecution can’t do anything about it.
This must be this freedom of speech, that is supposedly under attack.
