    There’s plenty uses of oil which are not related to energy production.

      I know, like fertilizers and plastics. With cheap energy from renewables, the risk is that other processes become more efficient. When kerosine can be synthesized efficiently everything else can, too.

        Not impossible, but definitely not in 30 years. This may one day become normality, bus as of now all chemical production strictly depends on petrol.

        As of now, no petrol means no medicines in the hospitals.

          China needs petrol independence. They are at risk of a naval blockade and of losing Russia and they have the solar energy. They are about to create synthetic kerosine. I expect full independence much sooner than 30 years.
