  • Wouldn‘t be surprised if this was an accident. Wouldn‘t be the first time something gets messed up after a Youtube update where Youtube simply changed how some things work for functionality. These things can make Adblockers act up in a weird way.

I for example noticed last week the first video of a session starts at an automatic resolution of 360p. I have to manually change it to 1080p. Then it remembers this and keeps it for a while. I could blame Youtube for this but I bet it has something to do with the fact I‘m skipping ads and Youtube suddenly doesn‘t know anymore in what resolution the video should be served. Perhaps it‘s getting an error and thinks I have a worse connection than I do and tries it‘s best to load the video anyway.

What I‘m trying to say is: We don‘t know why exactly Youtube acts up. Could just be a bad interaction from an update that is purely unintentional. Either way Adblocker devs will find a fix for it quickly like they always do.

  • My pay can‘t even keep up with inflation or rising prices and I‘m now expected to use AI for the tasks that I liked to do manually and instead waste my time fixing the garbage it puts out.

So yeah, thanks a lot „Christian Democrats“ and „Social Democrats“ for slashing the social state and putting our struggling economy to a halt even more all the while giving my employer even more leverage to squeeze labor out of me.

I‘m thinking I should take more paid health breaks before they cut that possibility too.

  • I agree with the sentiment but this isn‘t really how the BND works. It‘s more like the German NSA. They have barely any real executive power and rely on other institutions or even nations to act on the information they gather. Secret services in countries like the USA, UK or even France have much greater executive powers such as a license to kill.

I see the actual Police, their powers and use of surveillance systems like Palantyr as much more problematic, personally. Or the fact that we have a de facto illegal right radical party sitting in the parliament and other parties don‘t even think about applying mechanisms to protect our democracy and freedoms from them. It looks like our secret services in Germany are at least doing their job. I wish I could say the same about politicians.
