You would expect a lot of security measures that aren’t actually ever followed at a lot of companies because they cost money. And I don’t mewn that the safe costs money. Paying someone to manage the safes and ensure they are used correctly (like no sticky note with the combo on the side). That is where the real cost is.

If they were truely “rare” books, then the owner wouldn’t have sold it to an AI company. People who collect rare books are usually very choosy about who they sell them to. India the country is not poor as fuck. It’s a nuclear power. Even after the west stripped it for profit, it still has absurds amount of wealth and resources. The other big difference is that while the power and money is consolidated to a segment of the population, that segment is very large compared to most countries.
And overall, you have the direction wrong. The middle east doesn’t export these people. The west accepts them as refugees. But because of the wealth of india, their refugees rarely get accepted. So the religous nutjobs still exist (I’ve worked with some), they just stay in country. They stone their own people for being gay, or refusing to marry their rapist and all that.

I wouldn’t say it is western powers per se. But it is the oligarchy. Be they western or not. They cause the wars, often using religion as an excuse. But first they deprived the people of the resources and opportunities which drove people to religion. That made it easier for the oligarchy to control them by giving them an organized set of things to be upset about. So religion is really just a tool.

I actuaally like the look of the cybertruck. Probably just because it is something different. Most cars eesm to be nearly all the same these days. No, they aren’t terrified. These people think they are demigods. I’ve seen it in plent of senior vice presidents even. It’s almost a job requirement at this point. Body guards make them feel even more important, and the company pays for it. Plus… that other tech bro has it, so I should too. That’s just the type of people we are dealing with.

I think it is more the opposite. They have worked with some people who are terrible at their job. And the idea that those terrible people would get the same pay angers them. And that is the trick. How does a union ensure the people who do a good job actually get paid better than those who don’t. The answer is of course that they can’t. They don’t have to ban imports, just control WHO can import. And as long as those companies are jnder their thumb, they can control which consumers can have what.
On the damage side. Personal purchases of components pales in comparison to commercial. So they could live with damage to the personal sector. And of course it will make a whole new way for the to extract profit via yet another middle man.
