Somewhat better but not great. In Spain there seems to be a strong regional divide as well. Northern Spain is having a lot of racism too. Southern Spain has its problems too, but it seems to be less strong and is quite absurd as people look more like Arabs than like White Europeans. I also find this silly with Italians and how they are strong on Fascism again. In Germany they are also considered more as part of the “brown people” than of the “Europeans”.
Did you consider that project managers often have to follow all sorts of company standards, have to figure out a way to get a dozen departments with conflicting standards together, on top of that have to catch the stupid ideas from the upper-management and marketing without telling the upper-management that they have no idea what they are talking about, on top of getting something actually done in the project?

Wastewater treatment does release CO2, however the sludge can be fermented to biogas. So in relative terms not that much. Also the sludge contains phosphate that could be recovered for fertilizing or chemical industry purposes.
It would probably be far more effective to build renewables with that money than to bury things for which a treatment process already exists.
Engineer here. We arent talking about directly tossing it on fields. We are talking about having it be anaerobically fermented at high temperatures for about 30 days, with the biogas captured and used for energy.

We know that our current way of economic growth and consistent new “inventions” is destroying the basis of our life. We know that the only way to stop is to fundamentally redesign the social system, moving away from capitalism, growth economics and ever new gadgets.
But facing this is difficult. Facing this and winning elections with it is even more difficult. Instead claiming there is some wonder technology that will safe us all and putting the eggs in that basket is much easier. It will fail inevitably, but until then it is easier.
