Thank you very much! Will look into it :)
Raised on dial-up. Shaped by Morrowind and 20-sided dice. I lift heavy, think hard, and miss when the internet felt like a world—not a billboard.

Honestly, idk. I just turned it on, set it to advanced and it just works 🤷♂️
Sold all my Apple devices, bought a second hand Pixel 8a and am running GrapheneOS on it. Bought a second hand Thinkpad T14 and am running Fedora on it. Subscribed for a year to Proton and activated VPN Killswitch on all my devices. Next up will be to learn how to selfhost Nextcloud, Syncthing and Immich. 😁

Mike@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•How Big Tech Uses YOUR Kids’ Classrooms To Sell THEIR Products (13min Video)English1·4 days agoI find this interesting. I agree with your point, the problem I have is with the, sort of, reverse of what you’re touching on here. Before cambridge analytica, SecureScuttleButt was really fun, full of geeky people talking about and sharing geeky things; after cambridge analytica, a ton of people left from facebook to SSB and suddenly the conversation turned inward and everybody was talking about the platform itself and how to “improve it” and how to have safe spaces, remove posts, federation etc. Same thing with X/Bsky. Early on Bsky was fun and geeky and whatnot. Then people from X went there looking for refuge and everyone started talking about the platform itself or, even worse, talking about the “birb site” and the conversation diluted and became less interesting. I’m glad about the fediverse because so far I don’t seem to have hit that wall yet. (sorry if this is super off-topic)
Oh I definitely know that episode! It’s one of the scariest ones for me. And here we are not that may years after it aired with this already starting to become a reality. :(
This is depressing :(
Ah yes! But for my raspberry pi with ubuntu server on it, I think I followed something like this https://protonvpn.com/support/wireguard-configurations
