Sex bots being deployed as public school teachers is so fucked up even fiction authors wouldn’t touch it.
Like ffs this is so dystopian it’s one of those things they don’t put in the history movie 200 years later because it’s unbelievable

the issue is a lot fucking bigger than that. It’s an era of mass surveillance where we all willingly chose to carry tracking devices and microphones.
Unfortunately, removing instagram, reddit and facebook isnt enough to stop that.

there is one financial bubble and it is purely about unsustainable investment, as that is what defines a bubble. Like when they started throwing cash at the pet food company pets.com because it had pets.com even though they were shipping pet food and selling it below cost… These companies are just doing bad business and surviving because people throw money at them hoping to get in on the action.
It’s like if you had some uncle who drove a fancy car and said he had some big business k idea and he was going to make the family rich, and your dad and grandma started giving him their life savings as an investment, but you knew there was no business, he leased that car, and he lost most of it gambling and continued to gamble.
At some point no matter how much hype he generates, your grandma and dad run out of money, and the entrepreneur ends up in debt.
There are companies right now with sound business plans, and then there are OpenAI’s which sell their service below cost and wouldn’t be able to keep the doors open if investors stopped investing. WebVan closed their doors the day the dot com bubble popped because they literally couldnt pay payroll anymore. One day similar will happen and some companies will collapse.
One will be the next Amazon, the survivor that proved it had a sound business, and everyone is hoping they invested in the next Amazon. But tons of people right now are investing in the next WebVan or Pets.com, which might have been good ideas but too much too soon.

Guns are extremely simple devices. It’s not something you can solve with 3d printing legislation… It’s just people giving lip service to gun control IMO.
If you know how to 3d print a gun, you can easily find out how to make a zip gun with a bit of pipe, the kind you’d probably need to 3d print a “ghost gun” regardless.
Like ffs I saw a YouTube video or a dude getting two pieces of pipe, closing one end and putting a nail in it, then making a one shot shotgun out of cheap fucking material. You just need closed space and to hit the end of the fucking bullet. Guns are not magic. They’re simple as fuck, and hard to regulate partially because of how simple they are.
These laws are probably more for surveillance than preventing ghost guns.

Famous examples that don’t use 3d printing, the Luty guns he made as a crypto anarchist psycho trying to disseminate open source plans lol. The knowledge is very easily accessible.

All hail the sun god

As someone who has never farmed, I don’t understand why people think they’ll retire through farming, arguably one of the most back breaking jobs with least pay to produce stuff that costs the least out of anything… And is due to become more and more difficult as climate change gets complex.
This is not the type of manual labor you want to learn how to do and invest in as you’re older?
But yeah maybe managing some chickens and an herb farm, whatever that’s not a big deal. I just would expect to only be supplementing what groceries you buy as a hobby, not homesteading. Don’t get fucking acres of farmland that you won’t know how to use… Grow some rosemary and thyme, maybe potatoes. Fuck even one fruit tree is a lot of work. Try that out first. Potatoes! Try stuff you can do with a balcony first. Maybe a goat if you’re really wild.
But these are hobbies, not retirement income.

This is more of a cultural thing where you know you will get killed if you go against the leader, you know it’s “bad” to even talk bad about them, and it’s just accepted and you don’t really criticize it… Because criticizing your government would mean getting in serious trouble. You learn this young. You accept it. You just don’t do it.
That’s how it was in the USSR, how it persisted under Putin, and they just believe that to be a symptom of a “strong” government. Apparently youth might be waking up a bit more in recent years, but it was like that for a long fucking time and they accept that just opening a piece of white paper in front of a building like a protester means getting carried away.
So yeah they know these people are getting killed by their government. It’s just accepted. There is no question that it isn’t an accident.
It’s like that one video where someone goes up to a random Russian guy and asks him if he supports the war or Putin or something, and he gets quiet then says, “why talk about such things when we’re surrounded by a beautiful city?” Then walks away.

these are billionaires surrounded by yes men. Idiots like Elon Musk used to have smart PR but then their ego and narcissism took over and they built some weird cult of personality where if you disobey you lose your source of income, so they’re surrounded by followers.
I’ve been relatively close to a techie who became a CEO and it corrupts them. They think that shit lasts forever and start acting like how they think heartless money worshipping CEOs should act.
People like Zuck don’t realize that luck is half of what made them that big, that it’s not genius level business maneuvers. They were just lucky entrepreneurs. When they put money where their mouth is, you get the Metaverse, the cyber truck, stupid shit driven by ego.
Now that Facebook elders are dying off, they get “AI layoffs” which arent actually ai related, and courts that are no longer in favor of them.

Chatgpt, how can I create the grandest pizza morale boosting party without spending money?

Are you not using AI at all? I still think this is a bubble about to burst, but also, they each do have actual groundbreaking products. Doesn’t mean I believe Altman or OpenAI will necessarily be around in 15 years, but in my opinion they’re more of a WebVan than they are anything.
They are conning people by selling the lie that they are replacing the working class, that I agree with. But they still have something that will stick around, even if it ends up being less loud in our lives. The bubble will burst, but it won’t disappear.

I did the exact same after. Love that service.
No hidden fees… Because if you try to charge past that limit I set, it gets denied lol

Some of them not so easily, no. I had a subscription where I had to call and get forwarded twice over an hour to get someone who kept asking what they had to do to keep my service, dropping fees and halving my monthly rate for 6 months, etc. They make it really hard to cancel.

Honestly it’s fucking evil. I had cards expire and thought, awesome, finally done with those subscriptions! Then I noticed I was still getting charged for them on my brand new card.
We’ve let them take our money, manage it for us, and now they’re turning around and saying “don’t worry, you’ll still get everything you need … Just turn over your finances and decisions to us”.
Fuck this

We know this, but they’re gambling on current children to be raised in this world and not know any different.
Teach them different.

They want to close the loop and get the human out of it

I used to think that but I’m also noticing a pattern where it is just a waste of time and energy.
AI generates the big wordy email that sounds super formal. Someone else uses AI to summarize that email.
It’s like a dumb idea is decompressed and recompressed immediately and unnecessarily. We should never be using AI to do shit like write blogs or lots of words. That should be the human. It should only ever summarize if that’s it’s purpose. But inevitably, people get lazy and want it to write their article…
Headline says they were arrested on suspicion of arson. That doesn’t mean 500 committed arson. It means they suspect some are involved. Arresting all of them sounds a bit heavy handed but what can you do for something this serious?
