At present the project is focused on mobile platforms, specifically Android and iOS, as they cover the vast majority of users and real-world use cases

It’s really the situation with government websites requiring ie6 and macromedia flash, all over again.

Accessing the internet would implicitly only be possible with a google or apple account. This smells like a class action lawsuit in the making.

Idk about the laws in Europe, but an accidental trust violation with that bullshit is actually hilarious. Big tech stepping on their own toes.

I’m sure they are sooo worried about the $2 the courts will make them pay for the $9,999 billion they make fucking everyone. Just like that shitty lawsuit they lost this week. Goddamn fascists.

This is a really ignorant viewpoint. There’s a wide array of software that professionals use every day that’s desktop only.

Desktop form factor, not desktop operating systems. There is zero software I’m aware of that runs on desktops only and not laptops, AIOs, and NUCs.

If the comment really does refer to “form factor” and not “OS”, then the comment is irrelevant.

You can also run Android on a desktop form factor, the app would be then technically able to run on “desktop”. The OP’s post clearly refers to the OS, it does not matter what the form factor is, you can even run Linux on the phone (eg. PureOS).
