    I don’t know why economists are terrified of deflation, but see progressive inflation as desirable. As national banks take measures to moderate inflation, they could as easily moderate deflation.

    Isn’t this what we have been expecting all these decades, a movement towards post-scarcity, caused by an excess of capacity?

    This is the same class of enigma when they want growth growth growth, IMO they are afraid of equilibrium, of being left behind if the others keep trying to grow.
