Edit: I downloaded Element X for Matrix, and it seems to only be capable of creating a single chat similar to WhatsApp. Tried to download Revolt, and I cant get that one to even send me a verification code to my email. Starting of strong here…
Capitalists are so annoying. The hubris to assume we can accelerate climate change and ignore it and everything will just be hunky dory. It’s astounding these ding dongs think they’re outside the Earth system and not a part of it.
A lot of humans will also die in the next 20 years due to climate change. It’s funny you think we’re just gonna keep on keeping on once climate change gets really bad everywhere.
A bit more expensive? I was able to get a smart tv for like 800 bucks. The same equivalent dumb tv would have been a few thousand dollars and Best Buy said they would only sell it to business accounts which was infuriating to read.

Who cares what business problems AI solves. Humans don’t need to exist to serve capital. It should always be the other way around. That’s one of the reasons we are in this shitty capitalist hell hole, everyone has been indoctrinated into thinking of everything in terms of It’s economic benefit.

No they don’t. Protesting isn’t a civil war. You clearly haven’t actually experienced a civil war before. It’s not fun, and nobody wins.
They’re probably going to declare martial law anyways. What are you going to do then, listen to them? They want a civil war and societal breakdown. This is their end goal, its obvious. What they don’t realize is not every state is going to listen, and there is over half of the country who despises them. This is going to devolve into a civil war one way or another, and it makes me sad.
There is no reason it needs to be this way, but you can only push people so far before they fight back.
I have no idea what the spark is going to be, but its coming. It’s not normal for states to threaten to quit paying taxes, and for a state to activate the national guard to deal with federal goons.

Admittedly, I didnt read the article. I think the research is actually beneficial after reading the article, and its exactly the kind of research I think should be done on AI.

Because it singles people out for no reason. There is absolutely no reason to do a study like this that focuses on marginalized groups. Does this study make these marginalized groups lives better somehow by putting this information out there? Not a chance.
Research for the sake of doing research is assinine, and its rampant in academia. We have a publish or perish attitude in academia that is so pervasive its sickening…ask me how I know that (my partner is a professor)
And we basically all but force people to write papers and try to come up with novelty to justify their existence as a professor.
AI is a scourge on this earth in how we use it today. We didnt need a study to tell us that, much less to single out a few groups of people, who frankly dont need to be singled out anymore than they already have been by the Trump administration.

Thanks for the tips! I only just downloaded Matrix. (Element X) to my phone. I’ll have to do some more research on it. I personally could probably set up my own instance if I had to, work it to me, probably not. I mostly use discord for game jam hosting these days, and DnD with my friends. So, if the level of effort is high, or the barrier to entry isn’t low, I don’t imagine ill get a lot of people switching over to the new space. I guess we’ll see what happens.
