The development comes after a presentation to the International Olympic Committee by its medical chief, which highlighted the potential physical advantages of competing in women’s sport after being born male.

It’s easy to use motivated reasoning to dismiss things you don’t want to be true. Why do you think Khelif is a woman?

I don’t know. Perhaps I’ll start with the fact it’s highly unlikely a Muslim country would allow a trans male to represent them in boxing at the Olympics?

How about you pass that bar first?

Khelif was incorrectly assigned female at birth and is not trans. Many people with male DSDs like that don’t find that they’re not female until puberty

More than you do that she isn’t. Your link was dogshit. She may have high testosterone et al counts for a woman but she is still a woman.

Beyond that you are well aware that a) I haven’t looked at her naked body and b) probably aware that I’m not a sports or medical scientist connected to her career so stop your bullshit; it’s a lazy, garbage call to make. The evidence I have is that she represents a Muslim country and they would make damn sure she’s a woman.

She’s certainly a lot closer to a woman than a man that’s for sure. Furthermore, she’s been beaten in competition by other women, so she can be beaten.

I can tell you don’t have a great understanding of the boxing world. I’ll say this much; there’s a lot of women boxers with high natural hormonal counts. They’re tough women with quite a few of them well toward the male end of the spectrum. I know some of them can’t wait to have a crack at Khelif because they know shes the best, both physically and mentally.

Time to pack it up ay? You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Apart from ad hominems, your entire argument is based on being incorrect about how Islam views intersex people? Islam has policies that are pragmatic for the time period they were invented in, but are based on logic like “if they have to pee sitting down then they’re women”.

Completely inadequate for ensuring fairness in sports, and Algeria would have 0 issues with a biological male representing them in women’s sports if approved by a fatwa relying on such primitive logic.
